Elderly man missing in Fresno, family deeply concerned

According to Mai Vang, her father, Charlie Vang, was last seen attending a funeral service on McKinley and Chestnut around 11:30 p.m.

Vang says her father disappeared while waiting to be picked up after the service and has not been seen since. She is deeply concerned for his safety.

A missing person’s report has been filed and the family has checked surveillance video but has yet to find any leads.

Father missing for a week, family desperate for answers

Kao “Charlie” Vang was last seen on Sunday, June 13th at an event venue near the intersection of Mckinley Avenue and Chestnut Avenue.

Vang had been attending a funeral at 1501 N. Chestnut Avenue in Fresno that night. The family says around 11:30 p.m. Vang called one of his sons to pick him up from the gathering.

That's the last time anyone has heard from Vang. When his son went to pick him up from the funeral, Vang was nowhere to be found.

Is 11.30pm (23.30hrs) not very late in the day for a funeral to take place??

It’s quite late IMO. I personally have never attended a funeral around midnight. At first I thought maybe a typo, but 3 articles note 11:30pm. Maybe the funeral was earlier in the day and 11:30pm was just the time in which he was ready to leave after visiting with other attendees.??

Fresno police are working with the sheriff’s office because Vang lives in Del Rey.

“Detectives don’t believe there was any mental illness that might have caused for him to maybe forget his whereabouts. We do know that he has a medical condition. He has diabetes,” Sgt. Diana Vega said.

Investigators said Vang’s phone has been turned off, but they’re looking at its records. They’re also searching for surveillance video and witnesses.

Mai said Vang has 22 kids, 60 grandkids and two great grandkids who all just want to see him home.

His daughter, Mai Vang, said her father attended a funeral service at Chestnut and McKinley then called her brother for a ride but when he arrived Vang was nowhere to be found.

I’m curious how long it took for the brother (Vang’s son) to arrive at the specified location to pick Vang up?
Just wondering what some of the possible incidents that could have occurred involving Vang during that time frame...
