Lovey's Landing is an RV Park on the Sacramento River, which apparently allows long term stays.

Radio dispatches reviewed by The Sacramento Bee indicated that at least two dogs were found dead but the Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that the “number of animals, type, etc. is not confirmed.” A Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said further details would be made available Monday but the death remains under investigation.

  • The sheriff believes the boy had been deceased for several days prior to discovery.
  • It is suspected that the boy was smothered to death.
  • Three dogs were also found dead at the scene – one inside the trailer and two in a vehicle connected to Dixon.
  • There are no other children involved in the incident.
  • The victim’s stepfather is not considered a person of interest, as he has been out of town for several weeks, according to the sheriff.
  • The boy was homeschooled and possibly autistic, although the sheriff noted he appeared to be a normal child who often played around the RV.
Homicide investigation at Lovey's Landing in Sutter County: New details emerge

So once again, child not in school and being "homeschooled" which if mom is on drugs it is doubtful much education was actually happening. Possibly autistic but probably not diagnosed or the recipient of any sort of IEP. Just another of the many many children who are removed from the radar of any sort of mandated reporter :( and now he is dead. Prayers for his little friends at the RV park as they try to understand this loss.

First responders found Dixon’s son dead in a trailer. Evidence suggested the 11-year-old had been suffocated, and he appeared to have been dead for days, according to the sheriff.

Neighbors told deputies the boy was homeschooled and may have had autism. One neighbor who says her sons were close to the 11-year-old described him to KOVR/KMAX as the “sweetest little boy, just absolutely loving.”
