CA- CHP seeks help identifying suspect in Universe Ave fatal hit-and-run

After fatally colliding with Long on Universe Ave., just west of North Chester, the suspect entered a Walmart on W. Day Ave., and purchased several items at the register, according to CHP. The deadly collision occurred July 12, 2024.

Someone knows who this woman is. I guess the cameras at the self checkout are only overhead views? I find it hard to believe with all the cameras at WalMart, they didn't get a shot of her entering & leaving the store and parking lot?

I guess she paid cash. If she'd used a credit card, they'd probably already have her in custody.

Surely they have her on camera entering Walmart?! I would think this would give a better shot for a description.

How can you just go about your day as if nothing happened after fatally hitting someone. I can’t even imagine strolling through Walmart casually knowing you’ve just killed someone (or, at best, knowing you’ve hit someone pretty seriously).
Hopefully these two images are enough for someone to come forward with a name…

Something weird about this. Again I say, it's difficult to believe there is no other video of this woman at WalMart beyone what is being shown to us from the self-checkout? Maybe they have an idea who she is, but want to gain independent corroboration?

Can you use cash at self-checkout? She must have, otherwise they could track the card transaction.

What about the SM monogram on the purse?

Yes. Some self checkouts at Walmart are cash only.

It's odd right? So MANY cases are solved with security footage from WalMart. We see perps actively shopping, checking out, going to and from a vehicle in the p-lot.

They must have photos of her in the parking lot. How else would they know that this woman was associated with the black Pathfinder?

That's a very distinctive blouse. If I had seen someone I knew wear that blouse, I think I would have remembered it.

Also, I think if they would rotate the photo 180 degrees, it would make it slightly easier for someone to recognize her.
