Looks like he was legally declared dead in 2004 on request of his mother.

Date of death listed as July 31, 1978. Mothers' name is Jean Y. Onosaki.

It looks' like his mother died in 2020, poor lady never knew what happened to her son. No next of kin listed so I'm think Clayton may have been her only child.
