Danny Ray Michael
Mendocino County Sheriff's Office Case # 95-1595
Date of birth: 15 November 1950
Residence: 46000 block Fisherman Drive, Laytonville, CA
Danny is a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with blue eyes and brown hair. His photo depicts him with a caterpillar mustache that extends slightly below his mouth's corners. He works as an automotive mechanic.
On 3 April 1995, Danny left his home in Laytonville. He told a relative that he was going to drive north along Hwy 101 to Garberville.
Danny's sister, Hopland CA resident AC, claims Danny was seen in Laytonville on 8 April. However, the person who found Danny's truck at Third Gate on Sherwood Road south of Laytonville said the Ford pickup truck was there as early as 3 April. The Third Gate resident towed Danny's vandalized truck to his residence on 20 April. When paperwork was found in the truck, the finder used the found information to contact Danny's mother on 21 April 1995. The next day, Danny was reported missing. Mendocino County Search and Rescue searched the Third Gate area for Danny without success.
According to AC, Danny had just installed a new stereo in his truck. She said the vehicle was found with keys in the the ignition. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office stored the truck, then processed it as a crime scene.
Note: So how much was the crime scene truck befouled by the towing effort by the Third Gate finder? Was the stereo stolen from it?
