It seems Christina McKechnie may be a non starter for happy reasons. In November an article appeared in the Scottish Daily Mail (PressReader.com - Digital Newspaper & Magazine Subscriptions) claiming to have found her alive and living in Sacramento (and including picture). I do not know how reliable this identification is and it is odd that the article and story has not, apparently, been picked up elsewhere in the media, but it is interesting.
