An interesting cold case. First, from findagrave.com:

Doris June Gail Bowman was the daughter Dr.Cyril John Gail, O.D. and Hazel Emma Gail. Gail graduated from the University of Southern California and shortly after, married Frank Potter Bowman. The couple had three children.

On Jan. 2, 1962, shortly after arriving home from driving her children to school, she was murdered by an intruder. The beautiful young mother's intruder was never discovered.

George William Stewart, ex-husband of the Bowman's babysitter, Eileen Schultz, was arrested in Peoria, IL on July 9, 1962. Results of a lie detector test proved inconclusive. They had been married only a month before the Reno, NV wedding was annulled.

I found no other articles in the Newspaper Archive Academic Edition regarding this case after this article appeared in the Pasadena Independent, July 20, 1962.

The article shows he was well aware he was wanted by the police for questioning.
