Here’s today’s John Doe post. This one is sad especially since it involves a fetus! Super sad and definitely makes me curious too.
On April 28, 2023, at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in El Monte, CA, a fetus was found deceased.
The decedent was a male of an uncertain race. His gestational age was estimated to be in the late second trimester (weeks 20-26). He had brown hair. His eye color was unknown. He was intact and had a recognizable face. He was 1’0” (30 cm) in length and weighed 1 pound (450 g).
This is just so sad to me! Who would dump a baby, especially a premature baby out in the open like that?! He was intact so I’m sure his mother went into labor or had a C-section. Although with the C-section I’m sure since the baby was so premature he’d be in the NICU. I was born prematurely too at 33 weeks, had to spend about 3 weeks in the NICU. I was massive though. I was 9 pounds and 19 inches long already, they thought I’d be like 13 or 14 pounds full term. I’m only 5’2” and 110 pounds now. I was a chunky baby back then, now I’m quite slim. XD
Back on a serious note. What if he was stillborn and the mom is doing a poor attempt at concealing it? He was so early I’m sure he would have died in the womb or minutes after birth without proper medical intervention. A very good friend of mine was born at 21 weeks gestation. She spent 9 months in the NICU, with tons of difficult surgeries, ruptured intestines, brain bleeds, seizures, etc. She had 24 surgeries by 6 months old. She weighed 14 ounces and was 9 inches long at birth. It’s a miracle she’s still alive. She’s not very healthy, she’s also only 4’7” and 75 pounds as a result now.
So yes, I’m sure without proper medical intervention the baby would have died right away. There’s no way he could have lived without such intense care. An all around super duper sad case.
