Bakersfield Police attempting to confirm identity of reported missing woman

''The Bakersfield Police Department said it received a report for a missing woman, but so far detectives have been unable to confirm her identity.

The woman is described as a Hispanic woman possibly 19 years old, standing 5-foot-4 and weighing 105 pounds. She has brown hair and blue/grey eyes.''

''In the report, the person claimed Fernandez had traveled to Guadalajara, Jalisco State, Mexico in February to visit family. The report said she was last heard from in May.

The report claimed Fernandez graduated in 2019 from Ridgeview High School, however, BPD has been unable to find records confirming this.''

''Sgt. Pair said BPD has exhausted all its efforts to confirm this woman's identity, including searching social media and Google images to find her. So far they have come up empty-handed and are now reaching out to the community to find someone who may know her.''

Local woman suspected missing in Mexico located safe, BPD says

A local woman that was suspected to be missing while in Mexico visiting family has been located and is safe, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

BPD said the investigation was aided by community assistance and that the investigation has been closed.
