So he had a band radio
What does that do? GPS? Satellite?
IMO so many missing people these days. If he was off trail, did he have a paper map or GPS type map?
I wish someone would develop a GPS/Satellite type device that is on all the time so love one's can call for help.
Praying for a good outcome

World-famous athlete reported missing in Yosemite National Park | YourCentralValley.com

Todd Huston is a longtime friend since high school and a climbing partner of Fred Zalokar. When he heard Yosemite National Park officials report Zalokar missing from a day hike from Happy Isles to the summit of Mountain Clark, he said that trail should be a piece of cake for the accomplished marathoner and climber.

For something like this to happen in Yosemite Valley, an area that he knows well, something must have really gone wrong for him not to either be back early or to be back on time. That mountain is nothing compared to a lot of the others that he’s climbed,” said Huston.

“We don’t really know what could have happened to Fred, but my guess is possibly a slip and fall, maybe he’s gotten stuck and we’re just hoping and praying that he’s okay and they’re going to find him very, very soon,” said Huston.

So he had a band radio

A band radio is like a walkie talkie but with a little more range. So they are hopefully listening on channel 1 sub-band 1 for any communication. It is a line of sight radio but could have good range of he is up high on a ridge.

It seems unlikely he had a GPS beacon or satellite comm device with him or it would have been mentioned.

Hoping they are able to use some helicopters to assist in the search and that he is found soon.
