Seems very likely the body will turn out to be Gabriel.

The glove compartment being open, yet phone and wallet being in the abandoned car…What was in the glove compartment? As @Chimera wondered, was it a gun? Did he turn it on himself? Had he been despondent, depressed?

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified the body found in a Gilroy waterway as 21-year-old Gabriel Laradelara of San Martin, who was reported missing earlier this month.
