~~~END UPDATE~~~
The Placerville Police Department is asking the community for assistance in locating Gina Zumwalt, 39-year-old female who is reported to be a transient.
On Friday August 19th at 11:45 AM Placerville Police Officers responded to a report of a Missing Person from 345 Fair Lane. Zumwalt’s mother, Stephanie Vargas stated her daughter went missing from the area on the evening of Thursday August 18th around 5:30 PM. Vargas told responding officers that the two of them live in their vehicle and have been staying at the library. Zumwalt was described as white female adult, 5’2”, 155 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing black pants, and a dark blue t-shirt.
At this point there is no indication of foul play, and we believe Gina had voluntarily left the area.
Placerville Police Officers have been searching the surrounding areas since Gina was reported missing by her mother and although we have received sighting reports of her, until a law enforcement officer can confirm she is safe we will continue to search for her. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at (530) 642-5280.
