There is a report on Twitter that the LAPD are searching for a missing girl South of the Santa Monica pier.

"Critical missing child in Santa Monica. 13yo girl last seen walking SB from the Santa Monica Pier. Wearing a white top with blue jeans. Also wearing a blue bathing suit underneath." says the Tweet, from @downtownlascanner. The account monitors police scanners and is ordinarily reliable.

Haven't been there in too long, but the Santa Monica Pier is the western end of Route 66.
