Tokarsky was last seen on the morning of December 14, 1984 in Los Angeles, California. He went to the desert for target practice driving his red and white Ford Bronco and has never been heard from again.
Kern County sheriff's deputies on routine patrol found Tokarsky's Bronco that evening on the outskirts of Mojave, California, about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. The vehicle was parked behind a market unlocked, with the keys in the ignition. His wallet, with no money, was located on the front seat, and many of his personal belongings, including his broken eyeglasses, were scattered throughout the vehicle. Authorities found one pistol, but a rifle and a second pistol were missing. Despite extensive searches conducted, Tokarsky was never located.
At the time of his disappearance, Tokarsky was operations manager of a Sylmar chemical company. Foul play is suspected in his case.
