This was an especially brazen crime. The young mother was murdered on her way to celebrate her son's third birthday. She had been scheduled to testify against a man in a probation violation case, and her 16-year old friend conspired with the defendant to kill her, according to Long Beach police.

The article also contains details about an arrest in a cold case, the murder of a grandmother three years ago.

Two of the men suspected in Jazzmine Walsh's killing were convicted in 2016 of murdering Leam Sovanasy, a 76-year old grandmother, in her home during a botched robbery in 2009. They were sentenced to life without parole.

I don't know if there will be any action on Walsh's case. I will keep checking, as there are two other people also charged in that murder.

I must have misspelled the name of the victim in my previous posts.
It's Jazzmine Wash, not Walsh.

That's OK @JoeFromLB I'd have never heard of this case. Plus we are allowed "Sometimers". Sometimes we make a mistake. We ain't getting no Alzheimers.

Such a brutal crime, on a witness, but he savagely murders elderly women as well.
