What I think may have happened. She headed out on August 14th to camp in a region unknown but in California or Oregon. As she left there were no wildfire evacuations. However, around August 18th/19th is when all the news of evacuations in northern California and Oregon started hitting the news.
If we take what she said at face value, that she was going camping alone, then let's make an assumption for the sake of conjecture. She went somewhere safe on August 14th, but ended up trapped by the wildfires later that week. It's not pleasant to think about, but camping would be associated with remoteness, seclusion, and cutoff from the media. Someone in a wilderness setting could get trapped.
However, she is also a very attractive woman and we all know there's creeps with eyeballs that follow such women's footsteps.:jail:
