Jenny Maxwell was a well known actress in Hollywood during the 60's appearing on T.V. in Bonanza, My Three Sons, Father Knows Best, and The Twilight Zone but her most famous appearance came when she was cast in the movie Blue Hawaii with Elvis Presley. Jenny got married when she was only 17 and had a child but the marriage lasted only a couple of years. Jenny retired from acting and later married Evan Roeder who was a former policemen turned defense attorney and was known to be involved with shady characters. In 1981, Jenny and Evan's marriage was over and they had began divorce proceedings. In June of that year Jenny needed minor surgery and Evan offered her to drive her back to her apartment. It was while outside the apartment building that a man shot Jenny which killed her instantly and also shot Evan. Evan died in a hospital a couple of hours later.
This case has never been solved but the most common theory is that it was a botched robbery. Another theory is that Evan had hired a man to kill his wife and only give him a minor wound to take the focus off of him as a suspect but instead received a mortal wound.
