John Robert Handrahan

Case Classification: Endangered Missing
Missing Since: December 1, 2008
Location Last Seen: San Mateo, San Mateo County, California
Handrahan was last seen at his residence on Celeste Drive in San Mateo, California on December 1, 2008. He was having construction work done on his house and had paid a contractor in advance. He had an appointment with the contractor the following day and missed it. He has never been heard from again. He was reported missing by neighbors on December 3.
At the time of his disappearance, Handrahan was driving a tan 1989 Volkwagen Vanagon. It was later found abandoned in the 200 block of 26th Street in San Francisco, California on December 11. Police indicated that the van had been parked at that location for several days. His billfold was also found but at another location in the city. It is not uncommon for him to drive up to San Francisco, as he owns property there.
Authorities reported there is no evidence that his disappearance was involuntary, however, it is considered uncharacteristic of him to leave without warning and he doesn't have his medication. Despite searches conducted, Handrahan has never been located. His whereabouts remain unknown.
