Officials on Wednesday identified a man whose body was found near a road in Lancaster, as the investigation into his cause of death continues.

The body is that of Herman Scarborough, 58, of Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

Determination of his cause of death is pending additional investigation, officials said.

LANCASTER – A 58-year-old Lancaster man who was reported missing last year and then found dead in a dirt field was most likely hit by a vehicle, according to Lancaster detectives, who are now seeking information on the collision.
