Officers responded to a local hospital regarding a possible child abuse incident on Nov. 7. The 14-month-old had been unresponsive and had signs of trauma, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The father and stepmother were identified as 40-year-old Alfredo Munoz and 34-year-old Kelly Munoz of Long Beach.
Father, stepmother arrested for murder, torture in death of 14-month-old girl in Long Beach
The child subsequently died from her injuries on November 10th. Both father and stepmother are charged.

I cannot read the LA times article linked HERE Man allegedly kills 1-year-old daughter after release from prison in another child abuse case but it seems to indicate Mr. Munoz has previously served time for serious abuse of a child prior to this one (ala Jake Haro)
