HAPPY CAMP, Calif. – The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office is looking for people with any information about a missing woman.

The Sheriff’s Office said Lynne Siewert was last seen driving her black Chevy truck in the Happy Camp area on April 20th.

Family members said her truck was found abandoned on China Grade Road off Highway 96.

Deputies said a search was made on the truck and its surrounding area, but there’s been no sign of Siewert or where she could have gone.

Deputies said her vehicle has not provided any new leads in the search.

“I don’t believe that there’s anything that we’ve ruled out just yet. We are looking everywhere; we’re turning over every stone trying to find her. I don’t think there’s a lead we’ve ruled out quite yet because we want to leave all of our options open to be able and follow any lead that pops up and hopefully find her,” said Deputy, Aaron Jacobsen.
Jacobsen said the Sheriff’s Office is keeping its leads on this case private at this time.

If anyone has any information about Siewert’s whereabouts they are asked to call the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 841-2900.

***********
Selina Smethurst is Siewert’s sister.

She and one of Lynne’s daughters, Alyssa Siewert, have been looking for answers for over a month now.

They believe the sheriff’s office is not doing enough to find Lynne.

“We want the police to understand that this is serious to us, that my mother is important to us,” Alyssa said. “She’s a human-being and she deserves to have justice served in one way or another.”

********
Alyssa and her aunt said the sheriff’s office wasn’t able to give them more answers on the truck. So last week, they took matters into their own hands by visiting the area themselves.

“We’re acting as a forensic team, we are just civilians,” Alyssa said.

Alyssa says they found evidence of clothe, blonde hair and the truck itself. She shared photos of what they found with us.

“We found it very troubling to see that we have found so much yet they had supposedly done a search and rescue with four cadaver dogs and their dogs did not hit on anything,” she said.

But they didn’t stop there.

The two women, who live in Southern California, stayed for five days, interviewing people in the area for any tips.

“We had to mustard up our courage and get up there,” Smethurst said. “Just getting out of the car, Alyssa alone, and walking up to the house was terrifying.”

They say any evidence or tips were turned over to sheriff’s deputies.

Alyssa says she has not heard from the sheriff’s office since they were up there.

The Go Fund Me WebPage organized by Alyssa Siewert
(noted as Lynne Siewert's daughter in the immediately
preceding post) for search for Lynne Siewert is the
source for the information that Lynne Siewert's
vehicle was found abandoned "8 miles up China Grade
Road
". 8 miles up China Grade Road, if we assume
that is measured from the town of Happy Camp
situated by Highway 96, would mean her abandoned
vehicle was found on China Grade Road, not too far from
the east bank of the Klamath River, somewhereabouts
along the road opposite Williams Point (peninsula);

Details of Disappearance

Siewert was last seen in Happy Camp, California on April 20, 2023. She has never been heard from again. The black truck she was driving was found abandoned in April, stuck on China Grade Road off Highway 96. Few details are available in her case.

Here's her facebook. Hasn't been updated since 2017, but interesting she had a different last name at that time.

Smethurst would appear to be her maiden name which would indicate she got married after 2017 but her grown up daughter goes by the name Siewert . I'm sure there's a simple explanation but I'm confused ( easily done though )
