I am creating this thread as i stumbled over following report on possible victim identification

Coachella murder victim is missing Victorville teen, according to stepfather

News Channel 3 began investigating this case and got in touch with Mr. Gerrie (he requested to not be identified by his first name), who says that "Deaija L" is, in fact, 18-year-old Makayla Massey, his stepdaughter. Massey last went missing in June 2018, after she reported her parents to Child Protective Services for sexual abuse allegations.

It is mentioned that she was missing prior this and we have her prior missings from 2017 in the pulled part, i will see what i can manage to bring over here.

This morning the Riverside County Coroners Office is identifying her by her actual name, Makayla Jean Massey of Victorville.

Alexis Rosas and Maury Duarte were arraigned in connection with her murder. Both have pleaded not guilty.

Interesting, so was missing for a year after reporting her parents to child protective services for sexual abuse. Then comes up dead a year later. Have I got this right?

Yeah so I’m that little girls big brother, she was taken by cps from my parents for a wrongful accusation about my parents talking her to church and the cps lady said that it was wrongful to force her to go to church so they took her out of my parents custody and put her in a group home and she was taken one day after school and we were not told, we thought cps still had custody of my little sister and had her in their care but they lost her last year apparently after school one day. Long story short she changed her name and went by an alias of deijia Lopez and was living in info California where she witnessed a shooting and the cops interviewed her in an open setting without putting her into witness protection afterwords but they put the person whom got shot at in whiteness protection and my little sister ended up getting killed by that female whom was arrested and in that arraignment trial and the male is the person who shot the guy in witness protection, my little sister was murdered by that woman and believed to be a few others that have not been caught yet at this point, and they dumped her body out of the car on the freeway and left her there. We have been searching for the last year to find this little girl if u look her name up u can see all the news articles we reached out to when we weren’t out there driving around California looking for her in every nook and cranny. We were knottiest by an investigator cps hired to find my little sister that she was last seen in Tennessee which is found to be false cause she was staying with the guy who got shot for the last year and living with them. There will be justice for my little sister from those personnel whom harmed her as well as those whom could have prevented this outcome by simply doing there jobs as law enforcement personnel. Soon this will be on the news how badly the police department and sheriffs messed up in Riverside county for not conducting themself’s and professionals and for not following there protocol when it comes to law enforcement and this is coming from myself as a law enforcement personnel I would hang up my badge and change my job if I had to work for that county they are filled with unskilled officers and crooks soon the world will know how badly they messed up when they couldn’t follow a basic proceeded that could have saved this little girls life. Learn to do you job and don’t take the shortcuts its costing life’s.

That’s seriously beyond tragic. It sounds like any person who could have protected or helped her during all this completely let her down.

Interesting that the article states the CPS investigation was due to sexual abuse allegations, not being a minor forced to attend church services. She then "sex trafficked herself" at one point according to the article. Mental health was also an issue at one point.

I don't understand the logic of making false allegations to CPS as a means of getting away....she had run away before and wouldnt need to make a report to "get away" or run away again.

The pattern of her behavior (the running away multiple times, the reporting specifics, the prostituting, mental health issues, the types of people she surrounded herself with, etc) doesn't give me the impression this was about having to attend church services against her wishes. I'll sit on my hands for now......

Poor sweet Makayla, just a child. Most kids have the opportunity to make some mistakes and not pay with their life. I'm upset that she had no safe person(s) to turn too.
