Man arrested after taking detached leg from police scene and allegedly 'eating it'

What started as a typical Friday at work for a group of construction workers quickly turned into a bizarre scene.

It was then confirmed that the man who took the leg is 27-year-old Resendo Tellez. He has now been arrested for taking evidence from the scene. Police also found that he had multiple outstanding warrants.

Tuesday Afternoon, the Kern County District Attorney's office filed and arraigned him on new charges. Those allegations include -- the removal of a body part from a place that is not a cemetery, destroying or concealing evidence, disposal of human remains outside of a cemetery, and lastly obstruction or resisting law enforcement.

Rosendo Tellez made his initial appearance in Kern County Court in Shafter on Tuesday following his arrest where he was found with, what appeared to be, a human body part.
