Peter-Toltz was last seen in Los Angeles, California on April 23, 2022. She has never been heard from again. Her boyfriend was found deceased on April 29, six days later. Information about his death is unavailable and it's not clear if he or his death was related to Peter-Toltz's disappearance.

Peter-Toltz was a relatively known artist prior to her disappearance; her paintings had been exhibited in Australia and she had won awards and been a finalist in numerous art competitions. She has a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the New York Studio School. Few details are available in her case.

ETA: YES, it was the same SO, he passed in April '22, and he was notorious for leaking files to the FBI about Deutsche Bank. Very interesting, the obituary is a must-read.

Timing is a bit sus so shortly after she disappeared, but she had a son with her ex-husband and there had been a custody case going on.

It's not 100% certain from the article but they both got evicted in Feb of 22 and it appears both were homeless.

There is a remote possibility that this laptop and/or hard drives, may or may not contain information about international banking deals with the last President and a large German bank. It could be loaded with rank , it could be music, it could be anything, we do not know and it's not our job to check, only to sell it to the highest bidder. There are several hard drives, boxes of personal papers that appeared to belong to Mr Broeksmit plus a small retail display case this is staged in and around.

bbm Landlord as I understood it.
I also saw on Namus her date of disappearance is listed as April 28, day before bf was fond.
Reported missing May 10.
I wonder who last saw her and who made the report?
Circumstances of disappearance also brief and doesn't say much.... Do they think bf killed her, or that she killed him, or someone else killed them both?

MP's boyfriend was found dead on 04/29/2022 and MP has not been responsive to friends or family since then.

I think they were evicted in February per the NYT obit, so that's not as short of a time before auctioning their belongings off.

Apparently there are certain laws in California about abandoned property that he would have had to follow, including contacting the tenant within 18 days and put all of their belongings including laptops and phones up for auction if valued over 700usd if they didn't turn up to reclaim it.

I wonder if she was actually evicted in February, has anyone found court documents?
He would have had to notify her within 18 days in Feb-March.
Would be weird if landlord paid for storage for two months or let the stuff remain in the house with no rent being paid.

Obviously the bf was never missing but just staying away from whatever.
There is a case online where he was arrested in April 2022 for I think trespassing and other things at the former place where he and Marie had lived, that resulted in a restraining order.
And he also stayed in contact with a few friends and journalists including this one who gives some background:

... Eventually, in April 2021, Broeksmit resolved to “go missing” in an attempt to help Marie’s custody claim. “I formulated a plan,” he says. “If I am gone, they won’t be able to mention me in court.” In fact, Broeksmit just spent around three months in his bedroom, staying out of sight.
...On April 5 (2022), I receive a call at 6 pm London time. It is Broeksmit. He sounds upset. Everything is lost, he says. They’ve lost the court case, they’ve been evicted from their loft. Most importantly, Peter-Toltz is missing. “We were parking to go sneak into our house—and now I just can’t find Marie,” Broeksmit tells me. “She’s gone.”

...a long period of silence—until April 23, when someone texts me from Broeksmit’s Signal account. It isn’t him. The text reads: “Marie has been found and now we need to find Val who is missing.” I ask who is writing. No one answers.

...On April 25, Broeksmit’s lifeless body is found... ...Marie Peter-Toltz, despite what the anonymous texter told me, is currently a missing person according to the California Department of Justice, and she hasn’t replied to my texts, emails, and Twitter direct messages.
