Identified! CA - Marin Co., Body on Stinson Beach, May'14 - Raymond Caravacci

I'm trying to make sense of this quote. Could the body have been found on/between the Stinson Beach boulders? They are a mile south of town, and not far from Hwy 1, so it would be consistent with the other information released.

I'm probably way off base, but due to the number of missing persons found hanging lately, I wondered if the body were hanging from a tree. Could explain why very little info is being released, if he committed suicide and they have an idea of who he is but need to confirm.

OK it's definitely not on/by the boulders. According the short article here, the body was found "just uphill" of Highway 1 and "It is not an area with trails or any other common public use".

ETA - According to this other article, the fire department was first called at 11:23 am, and the sheriff notified park officials about the body at 12:10 pm. Makes more sense that the body was found in the daylight, as opposed to midnight.

A hat from a sailing club in Berkeley and dental records enabled the Marin County coroner's office to identify the man who was found dead on the east side of state Highway 1 north of Stinson Beach in May.

The deceased man is Raymond Caravacci, 77, who lived in the Stinson Beach area but also had a long history of homelessness and mental health conditions, Assistant Chief Deputy Coroner Lt. Keith Boyd said.

Foul play is not suspected but the National Parks Service and the Marin County coroner's office "will explore all avenues as the investigation moves forward," Boyd said.
