Meg had planned a coastal hike from Shelter Cove north to the mouth of the Mattole River. She deposited a packet of supplies with a "trail angel"--a friendly local resident. Meg is purportedly from Wisconsin. When the trail angel reported Meg missing a week after the arranged supply pickup, a search was mounted for her car, without result. Meg remains unaccounted for. The coastal trail she planned to take is hazardous because of rogue waves and high tides covering portions of the trail.
