Now, Melodee’s half-sister, Corinna Meza, 31, has given an exclusive interview to The U.S. Sun about the search and family history with Ashlee.

She said, “It is being said that Melodee could be anywhere from here to Nebraska. It’s very heartbreaking.

“There are allegations or assumptions that she could have possibly been sold to a man.

She explained, “Our whole family did try to get custody of Melodee.”

Corinna claims her uncle, Marvin Meza, became Melodee’s legal guardian for a short period back in 2020, but she was then placed with a friend of Ashlee’s before returning to her mother.

“My family was never told why she was taken from Ashelee’s care,” she said.

Corinna is the daughter of Melodee’s later father, Rubiell Meza, who died in 2016 in a motorcycle accident aged 40, when the little girl was just six months old.

She explained that Ashlee and Rubiell were not together when he died, but were still dating when she was born, sharing sweet photographs with The U.S. Sun of Melodee as a baby.

I can't see how any of it is helpful in the circumstances. And this comment the sister makes about MB possibly being sold is wild - the only other time I've seen that mentioned is in social media speculation. Seems hugely irresponsible if it is based on nothing more than internet drama.

I hope MB is safe and well somewhere and that Ashlee finds a way to give the authorities all the reassurance they need on that front. It's all so strange.

If she was safe and well somewhere it makes zero sense why she wouldn't have told police by now IMO.

According to our community reporter, Crystal Bermudez, Ashlee Buzzard answered her door this afternoon and was served some kind of papers, which she was asked to sign. This marks the first time she has opened her door to anyone since the missing person case began.

The obituary said he is survived by his wife, a woman not named Ashlee.

(Going off the hopeful assumption Melodee is actually fine somewhere) If she's (Ashlee) suffering from some form of mental health distress, she might be afraid if she gives up Melodee's location she'll be taken away. Or maybe she's not even dealing with a mental health issue at all and still thinks at this point, she'll lose custody.

Just trying to think of reasons that she (Ashlee) would be uncooperative even if Melodee is fine somewhere. Sadly though at this point I remain unconvinced that's the case.

Here’s the reason I think Ashlee may be unwilling to share Melodee’s location.

Ashlee’s Mom stated she was removed in 2016, Melodee’s half sister stated she was removed again in 2020. The media has documented her refusal to speak to CPS workers who are at her home trying to talk to her, as well as LE.

When the school started escalating their truancy contact, IMO on October 7th, Ashlee rented a car and drove to Nebraska. I have no idea where or who Melodee might be with, or if she is safe or was harmed. But as we’ve learned more details, I think it’s pretty clear what led Ashley hide Melodee.

I’m struggling to attach the photos in text - keeping getting an error message - but here are the two new photos from today’s update of Melodee in the wig. I think this is actually really reassuring that Ashlee was trying to disguise her identity as they were renting the car. I hope it means she was trying to hide her rather than harm her. MOO

I am worried about who Ashlee would be trying to hide her from. If Ashlee has mental health issue who knows what she is thinking and if it is reality based.
