Brewer said he met Ashlee fourteen years ago through another person. I’m wondering if he dated her back in the day or went to high school with her. A personal connection, not a professional one.

He thought he could get her to talk to him, but the whole thing got much bigger than he ever could have imagined.

Ashlee is 40, so she wouldn't have been in high school 14 years ago (if that number of years he said is accurate). It does make me wonder what she was doing at that time. If her older daughter is now an adult, she probably would have been a small child at that time. Since Ashlee's mother L said that the older daughter was in Ashlee's custody when Melodee was a baby (that time she found rotting food in the fridge), it seems likely she was also with her 14 years ago.

I wonder if Brewer knew Melodee's father when he was alive?

Was Ashlee working somewhere 14 years ago and maybe that's how they met? Has Brewer been a process server this whole time? When did Ashlee's mental health struggles begin? In some of the photos of her and Melodee when M was maybe 3-5, she looks much, much heavier than she did when M was a toddler and again currently. This is pure speculation, but since we know she was hospitalized in that time, maybe the heavier time period is when she was on psychiatric meds and being thinner now is a result of stopping them.

so, Brewer was given a location and name by Ashlee, who she claims has her daughter. Then he was held hostage by an irrational (his description allegedly) and he went straight to LE. So my question is, did LE find that person and what did THEY have to say about all this? Or is this another case of Zanny the nanny?

Brewer said he is not confident she told him the truth. LE has that information and so far she hasn’t been found. But it appears everyone feels she’s somewhere in Utah.

Or just Ashlee with the woman with purple hair?

Did the witness see them or interact with them? Up, close and personal?

Is it possible that Melodee had the purple hair and the witness just assumed a maturity of years?

Years ago, there was a thread here for a young boy whose horrid mother dropped him off on the side of the road. Cold, rainy, dark. He wandered a distance before approaching a house...

Just how unstable is Ashlee? Could she have abandoned Melodee on the side of a remote road, no houses for eternity?

For Melodee to still be alive, it would seem that she'd have to have been left with someone, someone who has no access to the news (though I don't suppose there's major coverage in other states). Someone who believes hiding Melodee is matter of covert safe-keeping.

Sadly, if Melodee is indeed safe somewhere, that information would be Ashlee's get out of hot water (=jail) card. And since she doesn't appear to be getting out and LE hasn't apparently signed off on any 'Melodee has been found safe', it's hard not to fear the worst.

Either Melodee is not safe or Ashlee fears something worse that LE/arrest/jail.

I didn’t say Ashlee was in high school fourteen years ago.

Brewer stated he did not know Melodee’s dad nor had he ever met him.

The witness only saw Ashlee and the purple haired woman, no Melodee. She said the purple hair woman looked to be about 30, but some have speculated it was Melodee. The only interaction she had was when Ashlee poked her head into the gas station and commented on the kittens outside. The witness (from what I understand) only saw the purple haired woman in the car from the inside of the gas station.

while I haven't read about any history of drug use/abuse in the MSM we have read statements from those who know or knew her saying she has mental health difficulties. I think members are speculating about changes in her appearance that may be based in possible use of commonly prescribed mental health management medications or the stoppage of use of same.

IMO, MOO, my instinct say she agreed to something risky , borderline illegal at the least, involving her child as a one off to recoup the debt she was in and pay it all off - she may have naively believed whoever told her her daughter would be returned safely to her and would come to no harm and would be treated well - I can't exactly think what this might be though

And then something went wrong and they didnt give her , her daughter back. I think LE are trying to cast a net and catch the big fish/fishes involved here

AM's weight loss in the past 4 years and complete transformation no longer looking like the same person - if through even natural means used excessively like too much exercise for eg could have resulted in the bipolar aggravating to excesssive risk taking with her child which she never ventured into before.

I can see with an unbalanced mindset the end would justify the means....doing something risky for the good cause of being able to keep custody of her daughter which if she were thrown in jail for unpaid debts , she would lose her daughter and her mind might have convinced her that was the greater danger ....dunno

one worrisome thought i keep having... if this is a trafficking situation, then all the news around the case made melodee a liability. and she would be in the hands of someone who by assumption would think nothing of hurting her and doing whatever they felt was "best for business".

Her debts from the info we have court wise are something she could file for bankruptcy for and move on like she did in the past. Not Something she’s going to go to jail for. She has no property or things to lose in a bankruptcy so I don’t think she would sell her daughter over credit cards etc. JMO. Not to say she doesn’t have some drug running debt or something.

I keep going back to the neighbors saying Ashlee frequently rented cars. Was she taking Melodee on these trips and where were they going? I can’t help but feel like it’s related.
