Made public on NamUs today, with no pictures; I'd be curious if any newspaper articles from the time may have further details (and if anybody knows how to search the text transcriptions on newspapers.com without having the subscription needed to see the actual scanned articles, that would be greatly appreciated; I feel a bit bad for having to go online and ask).

Unidentified Person/NamUs #UP152417

Biological Sex: Male
Race/Ethnicity: White/Caucasian
Estimated Age Group: Cannot Determine
Height: 5' 5" (65 inches), Measured
Weight: 150 lbs, Measured

Type: Unidentified Deceased
Date Body Found: May 4, 1973 [not entirely clear to me if this is when the crash happened or when he died in hospital]
NamUs Case Created: November 16, 2025

Location: Moreno Valley, California 92555

Found on Tribal Land: No

Circumstances of Recovery:
On 05/01/1973, vehicle #1 picked up individuals in Tijuana Mexico who paid to be transported into the U.S. On 05/03/1973, vehicle #1 traveled into Riverside County. At an intersection Temecula, the driver of vehicle #1 failed to stop at a stop sign and struck oncoming vehicle #2. Passengers in vehicle #1 were likely unrestrained, as they had been lying on the rear floorboard or hiding in the trunk. Law enforcement and first responders arrived and confirmed one death on scene. Three additional deaths (including John Doe) were pronounced at local hospitals in the following days. Though three of the passengers were identified, the decedent was not. The family members of the other passengers did not recognize him.
He was described as a Hispanic male who was about 5’5” tall, weighed about 150 pounds and had brown eyes and brown hair. There was no description of his estimated age or clothing. The only items in his property were a Timex wristwatch without band (yellow) and $4.15.

There is a way but it is a mess and the text is not accurate. You can try it though: On the resulting web page, scroll down and you'll see "Extracted Article Text (OCR). Click on it and then look up any mention to your subject. As I initially said, the text is often full of errors and a single section can be sprinkled throughout the entire text.
Feel free to DM me anytime with any links or topics you’d like to look up.
