Nick did not stand silent, he agreed to postpone a speedy arraignment. According to AJ, Nick was not medically cleared to participate, make decisions about his case. Next court date Jan 7.
Gives AJ time to look into case evidence so far, decide direction.

1. If enough Evidence of insanity, mental illness, psych meds. At arraignment, Nick to plead Not Guilty, Insanity plea. NGRI

2. Or, if AJ does not think he can “prove” insanity, then Nick to plea Not Guilty, AJ threaten to or actually go to trial. If AJ goes this way, The Mental Health issues would go to mitigation.

Thanks, it’s very confusing, “to stand silent or just not enter a plea.” But that makes sense, the difference being entering a plea of NGRI but defence needs more time to explore that.

Why didn’t they search the hotel room after the arrested Nick around 9:15pm? Did he tell them he stayed there or did they find out from his credit card transaction? Did he prebook the room or when he arrived? He was able to get there and think clearly enough to reserve the room, not too out of it due to drugs/alcohol/state of mind. I’m sure they have it on camera when he left the hotel, but it seems odd that he was out walking around for hours before his arrest, obviously I’m no detective, but I would think he would want to lay low and out of sight. If Nick was told to leave and went back to the guest house, he was probably embarrassed and ticked off, then his temper got worse and the tragedy happened.

Yes, we've heard of a few murders where blood on the knife handle results in the stabber's hand slipping down the knife onto the blade.

Rudy Guede, who murder Meredith Kercher in Italy, had a deep cut on the palm of his hand after the murder.

I doubt anything regarding the hotel room was needed for further evidence NR murdered his parents considering almost right away after his arrest LAPD announced NR was ‘responsible’. Perhaps after the room was cleaned, it became the accommodation for new guests the following night? I can just imagine the DM headlines “I spent the night in the bloody room of a killer!!”

Did LE find the knife and was it NR's bloody clothes he was trying to wash in the bathroom/shower?

I'm not sure if TMZ's assertion that LE had no warrant for the hotel evidence is 100% accurate.

LE may have legally entered without a warrant, by declaring it an EMERGENCY. WELFARE CHECK- --and then procured a warrant before taking out any evidence from the room, if they needed anything as evidence.

Many times we have seen it work like this--------LE can legally enter a hotel/home without a warrant IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY---

It is entirely possible that they then waited for a warrant in order to retrieve some evidence in the hotel room. It only takes an our or two.

So I am not sure that TMZ has that entirely correct. LE may have legally entered without a warrant, by declaring it an EMERGENCY---and then procured a warrant before taking out any evidence from the room. IMO

I would have thought that people would have advised Rob to NOT engage in this project.

Rob is just too powerful and "in control" as a director, to NOT just take over........

We have seen Rob quoted a number of times, stating that they were not listening to the healthcare providers in those days. He basically was saying, that he and Michelle should not have listened to them, but rather just listened to Nick. So, I guess that is what Rob felt he was doing with this movie.

I feel more and more people are going to feel free enough to talk about those days.

I don’t think think RR and MR were listening to Nick, either, though. Or they would have heard him say he just wanted to be home, smoking weed, taking some pills, and just doing whatever.

Just my opinion, but I think it is more likely that NR has not been determined yet to be competent to stand trial, so until that determination is made he is not able to enter a plea. Also, it gives NR's lawyer more time to prepare his case, so it is a good thing for the defense. I have been following a case for about a year now and the person who murdered his wife has not yet been determined as competent to stand trial, so the hearings are scheduled every few months and then postponed, over and over again, so still no plea entered due to competency issues. He will be held until competency is determined, up to a point. That case is also a California case.

Enough time passed that the hotel could have even called police saying he had been registered as a guest. they would have heard his name on the internet, it didnt take long for his name to come out.

The murder weapon COULD have been there, so of course there's a valid reason to get a search warrant, as well as to look for any other possible evidence linking Nick to the crime there.

Or LAPD would’ve learned NR used his credit card to pay for the room as they were hunting him down that Sunday evening so they likely contacted the hotel to check if everything was situation normal. Generally banks assist LE with tracing info very quickly. But if LE were also tracking his cellphone they would’ve also have been aware he was long gone. Or did he also use a credit card to pay for his drink at the gas station, I don’t know.

Regardless the urgency would’ve been to arrest him. The hotel wasn’t a crime scene unless there was an actual crime committed there. Other than it forms part of a timeline when fleeing I doubt it would play any significant role in a conviction. Even with a NGRI plea he’d still be admitting to committing the crime with the caveat he shouldn’t be held responsible since his actions were a result of insanity.
