***************

The following Friday, he left the house for Bakersfield and that was the last time they saw him.

"He says I'm going to Tracy's, I will contact you because he knows I won't take phone calls," said Craig.

His mom said Tracy is Jackson's ex-girlfriend. He was supposed to go to her house in Bakersfield to do some laundry before selling his car.

However, his mom and cousin, Brandon Kimble said while he was on the canyon of Highway 178 he was supposed to call them when he reached his destination...but he never called them, and never made it to his destination.

"He’s done it regularly many, many times and he always gets ahold of somebody, because it's just one of the unspoken rules that we have when you're going through there," said Kimble.

Jackson reassured his mom twice letting her know she’d hear from him once he got to his destination.

“I'll message you when I come out that canyon," said Craig.

*************

The family has had help from helicopters and drones, but there haven’t been any signs of him.

What a beautiful and yet terrifying road, especially in a lifted, top-heavy 30+ year old SUV. And since he left Wofford Heights after Thanksgiving there's a good possibility that it was dark/getting dark. I hope they get some more help in searching the canyon for his vehicle. It'll be even harder to find since it sounds like the vehicle was a mottling of earth colors following it being sanded for what was likely it's third paint job going by the pictures and info.

I guess helicopters and drones are really the only way you could search that canyon. Even if you biked/walked down that road the drop off is so sheer so that peering over the edge to look for the vehicle would be very dangerous.

When I say that his Blazer would be a mottling of earth colors, this is kind of what I mean. This pic is of my Mustang while I was sanding it before a repaint. His blazer looks like it was originally two-tone brown and tan, and then he repainted it white, and now he had sanded it down for another repaint. So it may have looked like this but in colors that would blend in with a Sierra Nevada mountain range canyon in the Fall, practically camouflaging it.

Sad news, though not unexpected. :(

WOFFORD HEIGHTS, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man who was reported missing a day after Thanksgiving, was found dead in the Kern River Canyon Tuesday, after a weeks-long search, according to his family.

*****************

After Eyewitness News shared photos of Jackson and his car that he was last seen driving in an effort to find him, he had been missing without a trace, until Tuesday. Jackson's family confirmed with Eyewitness News that his body, along with his truck, was found by a fishermen in the Canyon off Highway 178, about one mile away from Bodfish.

The identity of Jackson has not been officially released from KCSO, however, the department did confirm that a body was recovered in the area where Jackson's family says his body was found.

His family tells us, while this isn't the ending they were hoping for, they are glad to have answers so they can begin grieving their loss.
