I cannot find this case either in DoeNetwork, NamUs or Websleuths. So I am starting a thread here.

Unidentified White Female
Discovered on July 8, 1984, six miles north of Nevada City along Hwy 49, just south of the Independence Trail Head. She was estimated to have died 2-3 weeks prior.

Vital Statistics

* Estimated age: 18 to 30 years old.
* Approximate Height: about 5 feet, 5 inches tall
* Weight: "Slim Build"
* Hair: Shoulder-length blond hair.
* Eye Color: Not Specified.
* Clothing/Jewelry: was wearing several layers of clothing, and a yellow gold ring with a green stone
* Other Info: Sheriff's officials said the woman was believed to have been a transient and may have come from outside the area. She may have attended a rock concert in the area a couple of weeks before her body was discovered.

Circumstances
The manner and cause of death was listed as homicide by strangulation.

Tammie Lynn Wilkinson is a possibility. Maybe she wanted to get to that concert, but didn't want anyone telling her not to go, so she decided to just take off hitch-hiking, and phone home when she got there?

She has a tattoo that isn't mentioned for the UID, but a couple of weeks of decomp may have taken care of that. Also, Tammie was wearing a gold and green-stone class ring as well as other rings. Even if the ring on the UID isn't a class ring, maybe it was worn to match the class ring that the killer decided to take?

I hope she has a Namus soon.

My dear heart had 2 cousins (mother and daughter) murdered in 1974 by a very terrible man who was able to go on living free until dying of old age in 2002. I often worry he murdered other women. I wonder if this woman is one of his victims if so?

At any rate I hope she is entered into Namus soon ppl deserve closure and a grave to visit their loved one at.

IMFM, in my fading memories, that bandana on the ankle thing -- was a thing. It was the '80's, remember, we wore ankle socks with high heels, too.
