An Orange County judge sentenced a former girls' basketball coach to a minimum of 150 years in prison for sexually assaulting several of his players.
According to the Orange County District Attorney, a jury convicted 48-year-old Carlos Francisco Juarez of 21 felony counts connected to the sexual assaults of four young girls he coached:

  • 10 counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14
  • 7 counts of lewd acts upon a child
  • 2 counts of oral copulation of a minor
  • 2 counts of sexual penetration by foreign object of a minor
