We are not engaging with individuals and outlets who have prioritized misinformation, disinformation and flat out lies to make a name for themselves. There are numerous fake news stories coupled with the threats and harassment that have resulted in so many distractions in the actual search for Orrin and Orson.

So I guess that confirms that the grandparents and extended family haven't seen the boys in over a year. I wonder what they thought about the other four children being dropped off at their home in December with no sign of the boys. Did the parents just drop the kids off and quickly drive off?

No, this is Family Law Court, not Criminal. If I had to guess, it's about financial restitution to Kern County.

If the state is filing for child support from the parents then it sounds like the children are not going to be returned any time soon.

Yes- this is how it works. Parents must pay child support to the state if kids are taken by CPS.

ETA I think the parents get 12 months to meet the corrective action plan before parental rights can be severed. Check chart I posted upthread linked by Kern County.

I do know that parents can sign over guardianship before then, but that’s reversible. If there is guardianship, the guardian and parents can agree to an alternate payment plan that is less than full child support.

The only thing I noticed was that they clarified that the family hasn't been together for over a year, which is why they don't have any recent pictures of the boys. We speculated that was the case but hadn't heard an explanation.

The only other new information is that they claim they agreed the rest of the kids should be put in FBI protection. It might be more accurate to say the children were placed in the custody of the state pending the outcome of the investigation. I'm not sure they would have had a choice, but they might have been in agreement. Imo

Did I miss where it was specifically said the kids were dropped off at the West home in Bakersfield? IMO, WW's statement tells us the kids were taken to Jacqueline's Mom that day back in December. That is new confirmed information.

Yes, CPS gets involved if the custodial parent is recieving public assistance or if the children are placed in foster care. If all four children were legally adopted, then they have to pay for all four. If there are two foster children I don't think they would be responsible for paying support for them.

I don't know how it works in California, but in many states if the parents don't work they can be ordered by the courts to find employment. Imo

No, they didn't mention anything about the kids being dropped off or that they might have visited Jaqueline's mom's house in December. But that might explain why we haven't heard anything from the maternal side of the family. I did see the comment about them not ever being foster care parents. I don't think it was ever confirmed that any of the grandparents were foster parents. It was reported that one of them had foster children, but I don't think we know which one, or where that information came from. Imo

I'm kind of surprised they would admit they haven't seen them in a year. Is that including Grandma and Grandpa West ? They lived so close to each other, I wonder why not. What good does this statement do ? I highly doubt she gave the other kids to the FBI of her own volition and sincerely doubt she had that authority anyways. This statement makes her look worse to me. So you want to gaslight the public ? Her energy could be better spent trying to convince TW and JW to just tell the truth already. IMO

Yeah, they would probably be better off just not saying anything rather than trying to defend themselves. She said the extended family hasn't been together for over a year, but she was vague about the details. It still doesn't really tell us the last time they actually saw the boys.

I wonder how much they have spoken to T and JW since the boys disappeared. We don't even know where they are staying. Maybe they are living with JW's mom, since we haven't heard from any of them. Somehow they have managed to avoid the YouTubers or whoever the people are that have been following the extended family around.
