Bittersweet. Although in my mind I knew the boys were gone, my heart was holding on to that tiny bit of hope.

May justice be harsh and swift.

So were the remains found in the Cal City area and mentioned by the Pettus Attorneys, really the boys? They were finally ID'd and someone confessed?

The suit also alleges wrongful death.

Castillo — the lawyer — says that allegation is based on reports that human remains have been found near where the boys were reported missing in California City.

“They recently found human remains it looks like they were found in early-November,” Castillo said. “So the children’s father, Mr. Pettus, went in to allow DNA to be collected see if there was a potential DNA match.”

But Castillo said he didn’t know any specific details about the reported discovery.

Bakersfield Police declined to comment on the possible discovery of remains and said it is routine to ask family of missing persons to submit DNA samples.

Their adoptive father, Trezell West has been charged with murder.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A stunning development has occurred in the case of missing California City brothers Orrin and Orson West with murder charges filed Tuesday against Trezell West, their adoptive father.

Trezell West was not listed in custody as of 5 p.m. He’s charged with two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of willful cruelty to a child and falsely reporting an emergency.

I'm so happy to hear this. Of course not the outcome for the boys we wanted, but we all knew.

Wow. The last I heard of this case,the boys had just disappeared, and I saw that interview in the street with the adoptive parents. That guy seemed so slick, and unconcerned.

It’s just so sad, two more beautiful, innocent little children murdered at the hands of someone that should have loved and protected them most. I’ll never understand. So sorry boys, you deserved better.

This is concerning. When was the last time anyone talked to him? Prior to announcing this they should have had him in custody and then charged/announced. UGH! IMO

An arraignment hearing is set for Trezell on 3/3/ at 8:00 AM.
No hearing date for Jacqueline yet. The charges are the same for both of them. No bail.

Some of the local boots on the ground people saw a group of people, sheriff deputies and CSI at the Cal City house and guessed they were the grand jury around February 9th,
