With the current count, at least two more victims from the Eaton fire and three from the Palisades fire have yet to be named.

There are, as far as I can tell, twelve at risk missing named from the Eaton fire still unaccounted for. None publicly named from the Palisades fire, but all missing from the Pacific Palisades were accounted for, so the three victims from that fire are likely from Malibu.

IMHO many of these fires have been started by thrill-seeking arsonists taking advantage of the wind. I don’t think power lines can be blamed for all of them. Unfortunately, i’m not sure we’ll ever know who these sick people are.

Though it was originally made of wood, the Hollywood sign got rebuilt all in metal decades ago, it's going to be fine.

Wildlife officials rescued a 525-pound bear found hiding underneath a home that was evacuated during the Eaton Fire.

When evacuations were lifted and the owner of the Altadena home returned, their utility company said power couldn’t be restored since a large bear was residing in the crawl space where workers needed to access.

Donations are the focus
Throughout the show, viewers and attendees were encouraged to donate via FireAidLA.org.

Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife Connie pledged to match all donations made during the live broadcast, doubling the proceeds. Crystal noted that because of their announcement, U2’s million dollar donation was worth twice that amount.​

All of the proceeds will go to those affected.

So happy to hear that these major fires are finally out!!! I have been so stressed about family and friends down there and the former homes of my parents, grandparents, and aunt aside from everything else going on in the world that it's been hard to sleep lately. Everyone in my circle seems to be okay.

We're in a drought here with so little rain for this time of year. The canyons are so dry, and part of the problem is there is huge homeless encampments. Unfortunately, they're saying this was the cause of the fires here.

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news. It just that although, at this time, there may be no active wildfires, there's still these ongoing concerns. Praying for some gentle, consistent, non-destructive rainfall in the coming months.​
