An Inglewood man with the mental capacity of a 10-year-old boy was missing Friday, police said. Pernell Wylie, 47, was last seen at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Target store at 3471 W. Century Blvd. A family member had dropped him off so he could purchase a cellphone. The family member waited in the car in the parking lot, but Wylie never returned. It was unknown if he bought a phone.

Description: black adult male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds.

Last seen wearing a black shirt, brown jacket, blue jeans, white shoes and a brown baseball cap.

Disabled: takes medication for anxiety, schizophrenia and diabetes, and unable to care for himself and make his way home.

Is it ok to be perplexed as to why the family member didn't accompany him into the store? The information says he has the capacity of a 10 yr old. Buying a phone can be a complicated process even for us neuro-typical adults. Obviously I mean no disrespect here, I just find that scenario a bit.....unusual?

How do they (Target) not know if he bought a phone? Don't they track inventory and sales inside the Store? Isn't that place full of cameras? Something isn't adding up.

I used to work for Target in Canada. We had major In store cameras. As well head office in the USA has cameras in the store or access to ours. Jmo
Eta cash till areas were monitored as well as the cell phone area. Most of the store was monitored. But for inside washrooms and change rooms.

An Inglewood man reported missing last week has been located, police said Monday. The circumstances of his return were not disclosed.
