Phillip Tate, 67, was visiting his mother-in-law at about 5:30 p.m. in the Westmont Village Retirement Facility, near the 1700 block of Arnold Drive, his niece, Taylor Tate, said. He was last seen wearing a green shirt with khaki pants, and described as 6 feet tall and about 190 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.

Search Continues for Missing Dementia Patient

Phillip Tate was last seen about 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Arnold Drive, in the Air Force Village retirement community just west of Riverside National Cemetery, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Family members told deputies that Tate walked away without saying where he was headed.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Orlando Castaneda said there were growing concerns for his welfare because he has dementia.

Details of Disappearance
Tate was last seen near the 17000 block of Arnold Drive at the intersection of Village West Drive in Riverside County, California on March 1, 2020. He was visiting his mother-in-law at the Westmont Village Retirement Facility when he left on foot between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m., walked north from the parking lot, and has never been heard from again.

Tate lived on the ranch in Nipomo, California at the time of his disappearance, and his family stated he loved the outdoors. He was unfamiliar with the area where he was last seen. Few details are available in his case.
