My gosh what is wrong with people, the mother should have been watching her daughter why go outside the aparment to begin with if you have a gun under the bed and a 3 and 2 year old. My daughter is almost two and she is into everything. If the little guy didn't get shot they could have got into anything else that could have harmed them both sadly but true. I think the mother will be charged with neglect. Gun cabinets and locks do work.
