GUILTY CA - Sonya Harris, 43, & 3 daughters brutally murdered, Lancaster, 9 Sept 2008

ANCASTER, Calif. (AP) -- Firefighters found the bodies of four homicide victims - a woman and three girls - spread throughout a burning house, authorities said. No one had been arrested as of early Wednesday and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department had not identified any suspects in the killings and subsequent blaze.
The bodies, found in different rooms, showed signs of significant "visible trauma" not associated with the Tuesday morning fire, sheriff's Lt. Patrick Nelson said. He declined to elaborate.
Only one of the bodies had been positively identified, coroner's investigators said Wednesday. The other three were so severely burned that identification could take days, they said. None of the victims' names were released.

A jury on Tuesday recommended the death penalty for an Altadena man who murdered a friend’s mother and her three young daughters and then set the family’s Lancaster home on fire.

King was convicted Nov. 25 of four counts of first-degree murder for the Sept. 9, 2008, killings of Sonya Harris, 43, and her daughters, Kayla Clark, 9, Melinda Harris, 11, and Ebony Horton, 14... Harris was stabbed more than 50 times and her 14-year-old daughter was stabbed more than 60 times. The woman’s 11-year-old daughter was beaten and stomped to death, along with being stabbed, and her 9-year-old daughter was strangled, according to the prosecutor.
