The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to keep an eye out for 19-year-old Sumedh Sindhu.


Sindhu was reported missing on Aug. 2, but the department says recent developments have led them to escalate the search to an "at risk missing persons investigation."

The teen was last seen on Aug. 2 at his parents’ home in Mountain House, Calif., the department said in a Facebook post, adding that he has ties to the bay area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Dugas with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office at 209-468-4403.

Post #1 said that Sumedh left his parents' home in Mountain House, CA, and that Sumedh has ties to the bay area. Since the SJCSO wasn't specific about which town in the bay area, I mapped from Mountain Home to one of the nearest towns in the bay area. Sumedh would have to travel farther to reach any other bay area location:

Body of missing teen found at Bethany Reservoir

San Joaquin Valley, Calif. — The body of a teen missing since Aug. 2 has been found near Bethany Reservoir, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

Sumedh Singh Sidhu's body was found near the reservoir, an area just over 18 miles east of Livermore, Calif.

"No foul play is suspected and cause of death is not known at this time," the department said in a Facebook post on Saturday morning.

Bethany Reservoir is located about 6 miles west of Mountain House. The exact mileage would depend on where Sumedh's parents' residence was, and where Sumedh was found:
