Police Tuesday sought the public’s help to locate an 11-month-old boy who was last seen in the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles.

Theo Alexander Guarino was last seen in the care of his father’s friend about 11:55 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of West Vernon Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police noted there is an ongoing custody battle for Theo between the boy’s mother and father, though no further details were provided.

Theo is Hispanic, 2-feet-tall and weighs about 30 pounds, with a light complexion, brown hair, blue eyes and a birthmark on the outside of his left knee.

Anyone with information on the boy’s whereabouts was asked to contact LAPD Officer Hadeen at 213-677-9077 or the LAPD 77th Street Division watch commander at 323-786-5077. Calls made during non-business hours or on weekends can be directed to 877-527-3247.

Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.

Who is this friend? Is he/she missing as well? It's been almost 6 days already, this is worrisome.

Hmmm. Dad's friend, huh? Yeah, who and where is the friend? I hope LE has an eyeball rolling around following anyone who might be associated with dad, the friend, and mom.

Why do the grown ups stick the kids in the middle of their disputes?

Poor little Theo. :( I've got you in my prayers, little man.

I really will never understand what the secret is. Why not say who this "friend' is that may have this child? If he or she doesn't then we move on. Who the heck is everyone protecting? Let's find this precious child.

The father’s friend was not named by police, and Officer Drake Madison, an LAPD spokesman, said Tuesday that the friend was not considered a suspect.

This is interesting, I wonder what did the friend say? Where could Theo be then, if not with the friend?

My guess is that the friend is a fictitious person without a full name and once the search got too close, Dad "found" him. Makes it hard to press charges unless cops go searching hard for the identity of this person and since nobody is hurt they probably won't spare any additional resources beyond what they already invested.
