<<On August 20th, 1977, Theodore Sander III went missing in the mountains above Convict Lake in Mono County, California. At the time of his disappearance, he was 47 years old. He parked his car at Convict Lake early in the morning on August 20th, 1977 and presumably hiked up into the hills and never returned. He was an experienced hiker, however he may have fallen or had some sort of accident while on his hike. No remains or personal effects were ever found.>>

Details of Disappearance​

Sander was last seen in Mono County, California on August 20, 1977. He parked his car at convict lake early in the morning and is believed to have gone for a hike in the hills; he is an experienced hiker. He never returned and has never been heard from again. Authorities believe he got lost or injured, but his body has never been located.
