Search widened today for Mrs. Virginia Mary Avouris, 47, wife of a well-known Alhambra cafe man, who mysteriously disappeared last Thursday. Unable to furnish any clues to the whereabouts of his attractive brunette wife, Alex Avouris, 52, appealed to the press police to help find Mrs.
Avouris. He said he last saw. her Thursday when, she stepped his automobile to shop in Alhambra, Mystery to the strange disappearance of -Mrs. Avouris was added by Avouris in a statement to the effect that his wife apparently returned to their home at 322 N. Del Mar San on the day of disappearance and left her purse.
The purse which Avouris said his wife was carrying when he last saw her was found in the house yesterday. Jean Troxler, daughter of the missing woman, who resides at the family residence, said she did not see her mother return home after leaving with her father last Thursday. Inquiry has beep made of. Colorado Springs police, where Avouris said he lived with his wife until seven years ago. A reply failed to reveal any trace of Mrs. Avouris
