Authorities are investigating a California inmate after his cellmate, a convicted child molester, was found dead in his cell last week.

Cole, 48, was found unresponsive at about 6:30 a.m. Friday in his cell at Mule Creek State Prison, where he was serving life with the possibility of parole for a string of sickening sex crimes — with at least one victim under 10 years old, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said.
