As then-Sgt. Michael Thomas stepped into the lobby, Ford sat anxiously in a plastic chair wearing a military-style camouflage jacket, his brother standing above him.

"He said he hurt a lot of people and wanted to turn himself in," Thomas testified Thursday in San Bernardino Superior Court during the third day of testimony in Ford's trial.

Ford is accused of murdering four women, two of them from San Bernardino County, in a killing rampage in 1997 and 1998.

In November 1998, Ford started to reach in his pocket and said, "Once you see what I have in my pocket, you'll know. It's just the tip of the iceberg."

Thomas stopped him, asking Ford to lift his arms so he could pull out the plastic sandwich bag tucked in the side pocket. He placed it in the palm of his hand, immediately recognizing it as a human breast.

It was then Ford burst into sobs.

After ordering a deputy to handcuff Ford and escort him to a secure room, Thomas unearthed a paper bag to hold the bloody breast.

But it was the first step in charging the Arcata truck driver in the deaths of Tina Gibbs, 26, of Las Vegas; Lanett Deyon White, 25, of Fontana; Patricia Tamez, 29, of Hesperia; and an unidentified woman whose dismembered torso was discovered by a kayaker.

Serial killer’s victim could be from Colorado

STUDIO CITY, Calif. — Wanted: The identity of Humboldt County Jane Doe, believed to have been the first victim of convicted serial killer Wayne Adam Ford.

The torso of the woman, thought to be between 20 and 30 years old, was found in a California slough in 1997. Though in 2006 Ford was convicted of her murder and the gruesome deaths of three other women — Tina Gibbs, Lanett White and Patricia Tamez — no one has been able to positively identify Doe.

I just read the above document. From 2007 to 2011, nothing happened--four years wasted. Then Ford's lawyer gets 25! continuances so he can write a 155,000 word brief to try to spring Ford. And the litigation is still ongoing right now.

Received, and read overnight, Shadows of Evil by Carlton Smith. It didn't add anything to the timeline. However, it verifies that Ford preyed on prostitutes. When checking cold cases against the timeline, keep in mind that "nice girls" were not his preference. He preferred killing those not easily missed by family and society.

I’m going to add Charlene Rosser to the possible list. She was last seen in Eureka in April 1998 and was known to get rides with truckers. Her remains were found in 2003 near Sacramento and identified in 2012. She could fit the timeline for Ford.

I have a huge curiosity about the possibility of him being connected with the beth doe case for some reason no matter the distance

What about the guy who was found guilty of the murder of the girl who he picked up in willits. Totally different guy but it would seem like a good likelihood that he too committed many more offenses than he fessed up to. I forget his name. And Dana Walsh was the girl's name. I read the entirety of the court proceedings and that is by far... super heinous and terrible but good knowledge to accrue.
