Gift-grabbing wedding crasher is arrested and some of couple's cash is recovered, police say

Police have arrested two men in connection with crashing a wedding in Glendale and stealing about $60,000 in gifts and checks from the married couple.

Two men, Armean Shirehjini and Andranik Avetisyan, were arrested in connection with a brazen theft at a wedding in Glendale, where an uninvited guest stole a gift box containing approximately $60,000 in cash and checks. The incident occurred just after midnight on August 31 at the Renaissance Banquet Hall, where video surveillance captured the thief calmly mingling among guests before grabbing the box and fleeing to a waiting black Mercedes-Benz SUV. The bride, Nadeen Farahat, expressed shock at the theft during what should have been a joyful celebration. Following the arrests, police found a handgun with Shirehjini, along with other firearms, drugs, and a portion of the stolen money. Meanwhile, investigations continue to uncover further details about the crime.
