victims of human trafficking.
''Aleena’s mother has told the Waterloo Region Record she’s afraid both girls have become victims of human trafficking.
Online posts report Aleena being seen in Brampton, Peel and Niagara.''

''Now, the mother of Aleena Sawatzky is frightened that her 15-year-old daughter and her friend Sophia, 17, may have been lured into the clutches of human traffickers.

“I’ve had a literal nervous breakdown in the process. All we want is for these girls to come home,” Julie Sawatzky told the K-W Record. “We are devastated right now.”

''Cops say the two girls were last seen at the Bramalea City Centre in Brampton on March 29. Sawatzky told the Record human traffickers have been preying on her daughter for months.''

''On Facebook, Sawatzky voiced fears that there is a possibility the girls were given bogus passports and whisked over the border into Mexico.''

“Waterloo Regional Police want to remind victims of human trafficking that support can be facilitated without contacting the police, via Victims Services of Waterloo Region, at 519-585-2363,” said communications officer Bradley Hickey''.

While anything is possible, being "whisked away" to Mexico seems unlikely. They'd have to get through the U.S. border undetected (unlikely) and travel an extremely long way. There are plenty of victims to choose from (unfortunately) closer to the border. Drunk college kids go in to Tijuana and are prime targets. But Brampton, Ontario? Too far, too much effort and possibility of detection crossing the U.S. border. More likely they have gone in to the underbelly of Toronto or NYC.

Amateur opinion and speculation

You beat me to it but I agree 100%. This seems like just trying to say something outrageous or silly to get a headline. Why would one risk taking a newly kidnapped (is that the assertion?) girl through the US on a fake passport in the current climate in regards to immigration and into relatively poor Mexico? Take her to Vancouver or Alberta, sure, but why Mexico? IMO

May or may not be connected, fwiw
Interesting, wonder if the mps might have been tricked by a female?
These alleged HA members do not look like the stereotype i had of them , imo. speculation.

A pair of teenagers reported missing last month have been located.
Waterloo Regional Police say the girls, only identified as 15-year-old Aleena and 17-year-old Sophia, were last seen at Bramalea City Centre in Brampton. They are from the Kitchener-Waterloo area.

Police have not commented on the girls’ well-being and have said they will not release any further information about the case.
