Chapman was found dead in her home near Frankford on Jan.23, 1984. She was 38.

''Since the death was ruled a homicide, the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the Chief Coroner's Office and the Centre for Forensic Sciences, have continued to investigate the murder and have followed-up many leads, police add.

Police say even a small detail someone believed was “insignificant “ could solve the case. A reward of $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Chapman’s death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.''

''The provincial government is putting up a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a Frankford murder dating back more than 25 years.
Barbara Chapman was 38-years-old when she was found dead on her garage floor January 23, 1984. Chapman was last seen alive that same morning when she put her children on the school bus. Her 12-year-old daughter found her dead at approximately 4 p.m. Forensic examination determined Chapman had been murdered.''

Maybe, someone lurked in a car near the schoolbus and saw BC, if she accompanied her children to the bus. Then one day thought, she would be alone now. Someone like Jake Thomas Patterson, Wisconsin, who kidnapped Jamey Closs. A stranger to his victim/s. - Poor BC.

'Now, cops are turning up the heat. The OPP announced on the anniversary of the senseless slaying that a $50,000 reward remains in place and detectives are looking for information that could lead them to the killer.

In light of recent breakthroughs in genetic genealogy and a $1.5 million grant from the Ontario Attorney General, it stands to reason that maybe cops are getting close. Detectives also said there may be people in Northern Ontario who have information.''

'Barbara Chapman had previously lived with her husband on a farm near Stirling. And depending on the source, the pair were going through a bitter divorce'.

''Sources said that Chapman had been tied up and killed. The murder was a fairly tidy affair, possibly professionally done.''
