Brockville police say no foul play was involved in the death of a female whose body was recovered Saturday at St. Lawrence Park.
A post mortem was conducted in Ottawa on the body pulled from beneath the dive dock which confirmed the gender of the person and the fact there was no foul play, said Detective-Sergeant Tom Fournier.
The body was in the water for a long time and the death is not suspicious, Fournier said.
Fournier added police are leaning in the direction that the body could be that of 63-year-old Brockville resident Katherine Millens, who went missing July 24 while out for a walk.
Were looking at that as a possibility but were not drawing any conclusions, said Fournier.
He said no positive identification can be made at this time and DNA samples have been taken to determine the persons identity.
He noted Millens doesnt have a lot of family in the area and she nas not been located since police first issued reports she was missing.
But police will wait for autopsy results before the identify of the body found in the river is determined, he said.
